The Rawlings Sporting Goods company of Fenton apparently is the object of a buyout effort by K-2 Incorporated, a company that makes things like fishing equipment, snowboards, skates and mountain bikes. K-2 is based in Los Angeles. Rawlings had announced last month that a company had shown interest in getting it through an exchange of stock, but had not identified that company. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch quotes a source knowledgeable about the negotiations as saying it’s K-2.
