Blues Tie Senators 2-2

December 6, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

Fred Brathwaite went from hero, to goat, to almost hero again in a matter of minutes. The Blues goalie had a 2-1 lead over the Senators with just over a minute to go, but Marian Hossa tied it up with 1:06 remaining in regulation. But in overtime, Brathwaite stopped three breakaway shots to preserve a 2-2 tie. At one point the crowd was chanting his name. He finished with 30 stops on the night. Scott Mellanby and Doug Weight scored goals for the Blues. They trail Detroit by two points in the Central Division. The Red Wings beat the Coyotes on Thursday.
