The Missouri Tigers jumped three spots in the AP poll, and then they jumped all over Sacramento State. 15th ranked Mizzou trounced the Hornets 98-60 at the Hearnes Center. Junior Arthur Johnson scored a career-high 24 points. He also pulled down ten rebounds. Sacramento St. shot 51.6% in the first half and trailed the Tigers 50-40 going into half time. But Mizzou stepped up the defensive pressure in the second half, holding the Hornets to just 27.6% shooting the rest of the way. Missouri forced 24 Sacramento St. turnovers, Ricky Clemons had five steals. MU out-rebounded Sacramento St. 47-32. Three other players joined Johnson in double-figure scoring. Ricky Paulding and Clemons had 17 apiece, while freshman Jimmy McKinney dropped in 11. The Tigers improved to 3-0. Before the game, Mizzou raised three spots to number 15 in the AP poll.
