A federal prosecutor in Missouri says the arrest of three people in New York on identity theft charges only emphasizes the dangers of a growing problem. Federal prosecutor Todd Graves of Kansas City says his office has seen a growing stream of identity theft cases. And, he says consumers don’t seem to be aware of the danger. Prosecutors in New York allege the three men illegally obtained key numbers belonging to 30,000 people and ripped off nearly $3-Million. The scheme began three years ago and could well affect consumers in every state once the investigation is completed.
