Sixteen people working for Kansas City’s second-largest private employer could get big golden parachutes if the planned sale of Health Midwest to HCA, Incorporated goes through. Health Midwest is a non-profit company and is Kansas City’s biggest health system. HCA is a for-profit company. The sixteen will split almost $8-Million. Almost $3-Million of that money would go to Health Midwest President and CEO Richard Brown. The least any of the 16 would get is $180,000, which would go to a Senior Vice President. Brown says he’s the only one of the 16 definitely leaving if the sale goes through. The Attorney General is conducting hearings on the sale.
