The former operator of a nursing home in St. Charles, and the president of the company have been convicted of failing to report a case of elderly abuse. A jury recommends a year in jail and a $1,000 fine for Charles B. Kaiser III, and a fine for American Health Care Management, the company he heads. Two employees testified during the trial they suspected an aide at the Claywest nursing home in St. Charles had beaten a 78-year old man. The man died a week after he was taken to a hospital. The nurse’s aide has been sent to prison for 15 years.
