JUCO transfers Emigijus Lukosius and Emily Nash came to SMS as a couple and they’re leaving as one. Lukosious had a scholarship on the men’s basketball team and Nash earned one on the women’s squad. Yesterday the two decided to leave Springfield. Speculation is that Nash was unhappy that she wasn’t a starter and didn’t play at all in the season opener against Tulsa. Lukosious, however was going to be a starter. He averaged 7 points and 9.5 rebounds in two exhibition games. The Bears open up the season tomorrow against North Texas. The Lady Bears face Missouri on Saturday night. Both games are at the Hammons Center.
