Hagin To Become Voice of Cardinals

November 15, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

Wayne Hagin is expected to replace Jack Buck as the Cardinals full-time radio voice. Hagin has been the Rockies play-by-play announcer since their first season in 1993. Joel Meyers who filled in this year, was interested in the job. The Cardinals were concerned about his availability. Meyers also does NFL games for Westwood One Radio, college football for FOX Sports Net, and he’s also the TV voice for the Spurs. However, Meyers said the Cardinals would be his top priority had he gotten the job. Their first choice was John Rooney, who used to work for KMOX and is currently the voice of the Chicago White Sox.
