The Internal Revenue Service is looking for 1,160 Missouri taxpayers who are owed a total of $716,869. The average Missouri refund is $594, with the highest $47,829 and the lowest $1. Bill Barksdale with the IRS in St. Louis says the money is owed to Missouri taxpayers and those in other parts of the country because these individuals have moved and failed to update their addresses. Nationwide, the amount owed is $80-Million. Anyone wanting to know if he or she is on the list of people owed money can log onto the IRS website at www.irs.gov and click on “Where’s My Refund?” Or, they can call the agency at 1-800-TAX-1040.
