Blunt Moves Up In U.S. House Leadership

Southwest Missouri Congressman Roy Blunt has become the third-ranking leader of the House of Representatives. Blunt had no opposition as majority whip. While Missouri gains some status with Blunt’s selection, it loses some clout later today when minority Democrats replace Richard Gephardt of St. Louis as their leader. He is stepping away from that post after eight yers.
