Missouri Libertarians are pleased with the results of the November 5th balloting, even though they failed to win any of the races. They did pick-up 2.2 percent of the votes cast in the State Auditor’s race, meaning the Libertarians can enjoy automatic ballot access for at least the next two election cycles. Party Chairman Bob Sullentrup says winning 2 percent of the votes cast in a statewide race is so important to the Libertarians and to any third party in Missouri. The Green Party, unlike the Libertarians, must collect signatures in order to place candidates on ballots for the next election in 2004. Sullentrup says collecting signatures takes away time from campaigning and getting the message out.
