The University of Missouri curators have offered a deal to the President of Western Michigan University, but Western Michigan University has made a counter-offer to Elson Floyd to keep him. Curators in Missouri still won’t say Floyd is the person they want. But the head of Western Michigan’s board of trustees makes no secret Missouri’s offer and the fact that Western Michigan doesn’t want Missouri to get him. Missouri curators have gone ahead with plans for receptions on each of the four campuses to announce Floyd’s hiring.
