State Transportation Department officials have come up with their annual report to the Legislature outlining what they do. It takes a two-and-a-half inch binder to hold the pages of the report outlining how well the Transportation Department did last year and the direction Department officials would like MoDOT to move in the future. Legislative liason Jay Wunderlich says the report is getting more attention this year. Wunderlich says the report is part of his Department’s efforts to improve its image regarding accountability and he admits he has to sell that message to 100 new lawmakers. The first lesson is November 20th in front of a state joint legislative committee on oversight, however only about half of those members will be in the Legislature when the new session begins in January.
