The Republican victories in the U.S. House in Tuesday’s voting have claimed a post-election victim – House Democratic Leader Richaerd Gephardt of St. Louis. The St. Louis Congressman has announced he’s ending his eight-year stint as Minority Leader. He was elected following the Republican takeover of the U.S. House in the 1994 elections. Gephardt says he will hold onto his House seat, but has not said whether he plans to run for the White House in two years.
