Officials at the Secretary of State’s Office are pleased with yesterday’s turnout at the polls. Just more than half, 50.7 percent of eligible voters in the state, cast votes for a total of 1,868,041. Officials credit a tight Senate race for the better-than-expected turnout. Secretary of State officials say there were only minor glitches in the election, unlike the widespread problems of two years ago.
