People considering nursing homes for themselves, a friend, or a family member will have a new source of information to check next week. It’s a new Internet site that rates quality of care on eight criteria, and contains other information. An organization called Missouri PRO is behind the effort. Spokesman Deborah Finley admits the ratings will be subjective. But she says the public can’t wait for development of completely objective criteria. She says it’s not the only source people should check when evaluating nursing homes. She says visits, and conversations with people living in the homes and their relatives also will help with a decision.
