It’s been quite a run for Joplin’s Jamie McMurray. He finished 7th at NASCAR’S NAPA 500 yesterday. In three Winston Cup events, McMurray has finished in the top ten twice. He also has a win at Lowes Motor Speedway earlier this month. He’s filling in for the injured Sterling Marlin who was injured at Kansas Speedway. McMurray also won his first Busch Series race in Atlanta on Saturday. There were four other Missourians in action on Sunday. Rusty Wallace was 17th, Mike Wallace was 31st, Kenny Wallace was 36th and Ken Schrader was 42nd. The Wallace brothers are from St. Louis, Schrader hails from Fenton. Rusty Wallace is 5th in the point standings. Kurt Busch was the winner in the rain-shortened event.
