Last week Dick Vermeil was tired of answering questions about his defense. This he was more than happy to talk about them. The league’s worst defense held the league’s highest rated offense to just 10 points, despite allowing 417 yards, in a 20-10 win over the Raiders. The second half—the fourth quarter specifically—has been a problem for Kansas City, but yesterday they stood firm, allowing only a field goal in the final thirty minutes of play. The offense needed the solid play on the other side of the ball. The 20-point effort was their second-lowest output of the season. Trent Green was 18-30 for 208 yards, throwing a touchdown and two interceptions. The picks were both in Raider territory. Priest Holmes continued to distance himself from the rest of the league. He rushed for 93 yards and caught six passes for 91 yards. He leads the league in rushing , all-purpose yards and touchdowns. The much-needed win moved their record to 4-4 and dropped the Raiders to 4-3. Kansas City has a bye this week before heading to San Francisco on November 10th.
