If Dick Vermeil doesn’t win a Super Bowl with the Chiefs this season or next season, he never will. In yesterday’s press conference, the Chiefs head coach said he doesn’t plan on extending his stay in the NFL past his current contract, which expires after the 2003 campaign. Vermeil came out of retirement because of his friendship with Chiefs General Manager Carl Peterson. He originally retired the day after the Rams win over the Titans in Super Bowl XXXIV.
