At Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield, Notre Dame de Sion appears to be on their way to the Class 2 state championship in golf. The Kansas City area high school has a 25-stroke lead over second place Columbia Hickman after day one. St. Joseph’s Academy, Ursuline Academy and Lafayette (Wildwood) round out the top five. Emily Hoeper of Notre Dame de Sion has the lead in the individual competition. At Island Green Golf Course in Republic, Mt. Vernon leads defending Class 1 champ Richmond by six strokes. Villa Duchesne is 3rd, Kirksville is 4th, and Visitation is 5th. Brianna Broderick of Richmond leads the field. The final day of competition is today.
