An announcement on minor league baseball in Columbia is expected before November. A report in the Columbia Missourian says that the team could very well come from Ohio or Pennsylvania. The Canton Coyotes of the Pioneer League were last in the league in attendance at 737 per game. Ken Wilson who owns both the River City Rascals and the Gateway Grizzlies told the Missourian that Canton and the Johnstown (Pa.) Johnnies were the two most likely candidates. Which ever team it is, will play it’s home games on the University of Missouri campus.
