Not guilty of three manslaughter charges – guilty of misdemeanor drunk driving. The ruling comes from a judge who has heard the case against a former Southwest Baptist University student who was driving the car in which three friends were killed in a crash. The case was heard without a jury. The judge says there’s no doubt Tyler Wasmer was legally drunk. But he thinks the accident happened becuase everybody in the car fell asleep. The car hit a tree. Wamser, who was facing as much as 28 years in prison if he’d been convicted of manslaughter, now faces as much as six months in jail and a $500 fine. He’ll be sentenced in December.
