Cardinal right-handed pitcher Garrett Stephenson has gotten into a little hot water. According to San Francisco police reports, he slapped a fan after the game on Sunday. Apparently, the man was banging the team bus and harassing the Cardinals and their wives after their 4-3 loss in Game 4. The police said that a security guard who saw the conflict believed both Stephenson and the fan were at fault, calling it a “mutual combat situation.” At the time, the fan decided against pressing charges but later reconsidered. He may file with the district attorney where Stephenson could be charged with misdemeanor assault.
