KC Proposal Calls For New Downtown Arena

October 14, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

Another effort is being launched to have a new arena built in downtown Kansas City. A group of consultants has been working on several arena proposals and has come up with an idea it plans to present to Mayor Kay Barnes in a few weeks. Kevin Gray, President of the Kansas City Sports Commission, says an arena should be built – despite the fact these are tough economic times. Gray says the arena should be about more than just sports. It can also enhance the city’s chances of attracting important conventions.
