The Democratic Party’s weekly radio address has been delivered by Senator Jean Carnahan. In her speech, Missouri’s junior U.S. Senator focused on security – at home and abroad – and the nation’s sagging economy. Carnahan spoke of the need to conquer terrorism and to secure the homeland. But, she also addressed concerns about economic issues at home. Carnahan called on President Bush and Congress to extend unemployment insurance compensation for Americans who have lost their jobs during the economic downturn.
