Murder charges might be filed against the passenger in that car that crashed into an eastern Missouri police officer, crushing him to death. Investigators with the State Highway Patrol and the Warren County prosecutor’s office are considering filing the charges in the death of 35-year-old Vernon Seals, a police officer from Truesdale who was responding to a manhunt on I-70. The driver of the car, Elriche Williams of St. Louis, died in the accident. The passenger, Michael Otey of Fulton was critically injured. The accident occurred when the two attempted to flee from highway patrol troopers on I-70. The driver lost control in the median while attempting to pass another vehicle. The car flipped several times and crashed into Seals who was standing outside his patrol car.
