Suit Against Drug Companies In Courtney Drug Dilution Case Dismissed

October 7, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

A civil lawsuit stemming from the Robert Courtney drug dilution case in Kansas City goes on, but with two drug companies dismissed from the case. No reason for the dismissal has been given, but lawyers for Eli Lily and Bristol-Myers Squibb have been removed from the case launched by plaintiff Georgia Hayes, who claimed the drug companies should have known that former pharmacist Courtney was watering down drugs at his pharmacies. It is believed a settlement was agreed to. Hayes’ case against Courtney continues. Courtney pleaded guilty in February to tampering with drugs, including those administered to Hayes. He’s scheduled to be sentenced in December.
