The Missouri Tigers have grabbed another prep star for their 2003 recruiting class. Springfield Kickapoo Senior Spencer Laurie announced yesterday that he will be a Tiger. The 6-2 guard averaged 18 points and almost four steals a game, earning all-state honors. The Chiefs went 26-2 last season. Reports say Laurie will play as a walk on this year and earn a scholarship next year to leave more scholarships open. Laurie’s teammates Deven Mitchell and Anthony Tolliver have also committed to Division I programs. Mitchell will go to SMS; Tolliver is headed to Creighton.
