Folks who’ve been to his press conferences or follow Mizzou football know head coach Gary Pinkel is not one to trash talk an opponent. According to an article posted in the Sooners locker room, Pinkel belittled the defense and said that the team was vulnerable. If it seems hard to believe, it’s because the article wasn’t an article at all. Someone, other than Mike DeArmond of the Kansas City Star who was credited as the author, wrote the story. Apparently it was full of quotes from Pinkel and a number of grammatical errors as well. Mizzou will face the 3rd ranked Sooners on Saturday at Faurot Field. FOX will carry the game, which kicks off at 6:00…. Tiger cornerback R.J. Jones has been named the national defensive player of the week. Last Saturday he picked off three Troy St. passes.
