A national study says Missouri is doing a better job of getting students ready for college than it was two years ago but the benefits the state draws from colleges have slipped. The National Center for Public Policy and Higher Education rates states in five categories. Overall, we get a “C.” But the Center gives Missouri D-pluses in affordability, and in the benefits the state gets from its colleges. Our highest grades are B-minuses for preparation and completion – how many students get degrees. Missouri gets a C-plus in participation, the number of students going to college.
