It’s your turn to have a say in how much your State Representative, State Senator, Governor, Treasurer, even your judges get paid. The first of four public hearings to be held by the Missouri Citizens’ Commission on Compensation will be held Thursday night at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Commission Chairman John Ebeling of St. Louis says everyone is welcome, though he wishes more of the public would take him up on the invitation. The Commission will also meet in Cape Girardeau, Springfield and St. Louis. It will gather public input and present a recommendation for salaries to the state Legislature, which has rejected the recommendations in the past.
