Deer hunting with a bow and arrow starts Tuesday across the state. The season lasts through mid-January with a two-week break in November for the regular gun season. Jeff Cockerham with the State Conservaton Department says there are plenty of deer in the state, and the Conservation Department is distributing more antlerless permits in mostly the northern half of the state. He says that should increase hunters’ chances for bagging one this season.
