The little Southwest Missouri town of Morrisville has a severe weather siren now picked up at a bargain price from Springfield. Morrisville has about 345 residents and expects to grow rapidly in coming years. Morrisville officials got the siren system when they heard Springfield was replacing its old storm warning system. Springfield sold part of the old system for $500. Morrisville’s Mayor tells the Springfield News-Leader that’s affordable – that a completely new system would have cost his little town about $8,000.
