The parade of nationally known political figures campaigning for candidates in Missouri’s U.S. Senate race goes on. Former Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole appeared at a campaign event Saturday in Dexter, in Southeast Missouri, for Republican Senate Candidate Jim Talent. Dole was the Republican nominee for President in 1996. Last week, the current Senate Majority Leader, Tom Daschle, stumped at an event in Kansas City for Senator Jean Carnahan. President George W. Bush has visited Missouri on behalf of Talent, as has former President George Bush. Several Cabinet Secretaries have also visited Missouri on behalf of the former St. Louis area Congressman.
