The Cardinals finished off a sweep of the Diamondbacks with a 6-1 win over Curt Schilling. Schilling didn’t make many mistakes, but the ones he made, were huge. The 23-game winner allowed a three-run homer to Scott Rolen in the fourth inning and another three-run home run J.D. Drew in the eighth. Meanwhile Cardinal starter Garrett Stephenson allowed one hit and five walks over five innings to get his second win of the season. The win completed a sweep of the Diamondbacks and moved St. Louis into a tie with Arizona for home-field advantage in first round of the playoffs. But nothing is nailed down for the Diamondbacks. They still have to clinch the N.L. West. They lead the Giants by two games with four to go. The Redbirds face the Brewers for the first of four tonight at Busch. St. Louis has won 18 of their last 21.
