Warfield and Crockett Could Be Out For Chiefs

September 25, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

Chiefs head coach Dick Vermeil said yesterday that his defense, which is ranked last in the NFL, could be without corner backs Eric Warfield and Ray Crockett. Both were hurt in Sunday’s loss to the Patriots. Some have asked whether or not it matters who starts on defense. The Chiefs have allowed 103 points in three games and rank last in total defense and pass defense. Vermeil pointed out, at yesterday’s press conference, that 51% of the yards they’ve given up this season have come on just 15 plays. Kansas city wil be in action at Arrowhead on Sunday as they square off with the Dolphins. Miami running back Ricky Williams leads the NFL in rushing, Priest Holmes is second. Williams and Holmes played together at the University of Texas.
