Anti-Union Ad Campaign Targets St. Louis

September 24, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

An anti-union adverstising campaign is targetting St. Louis. The National Taxpayers Union has chosen St. Louis as well as Washington, Pittsburgh, Memphis, Rapid City, South Dakota, and Columbus, Ohio, for print, radio and television ads against union violence. The National Taxpayers Union is pushing for the expansion of federal racketeering laws to apply to cases of union violence. A US House panel is scheduled to consider workplace violence, including the role of unions in such violence. The group financing the ad campaign hopes to put pressure on St. Louis Congressman Richard Gephardt, the leading Democrat in the House, to address the issue.
