American Airlines says it wants to spend nearly $15-Million dollars to improve the looks of its ticket counters, gate areas and new passenger loading bridges at Lambert Field in St. Louis. The St. Louis Airport Authority also has announced plans to spend $7-Million to expand security checkpoints in the main terminal, install new carpeting in the corridors and make room for more restaurants. An official for American’s largest union questions plans for spending such money at a time when employees are losing their jobs.
