A couple of cheerleaders from Wentzville Holt High School have sued the school district, the high school principal, and an adviser claiming they were humiliated over an allegation they had been drinking at a preseason football game. Actually, the mothers of 17-year-old Rachel Jennings and 16-year-old Lauren Schwaigert have filed suit in federal court seeking $1.5-Million in damages. The suit claims the cheerleading sponsor picked up the girls at their homes late that night and she and the rest of the cheerleading squad interrogated them until early in the morning about rumours they had been drinking. The school district superintendent acknowledges the sponsor used bad judgment, but he calls the lawsuit bizarre.
