Jeff Fassero was the winner in relief. Chuck Finley started, but didn’t get the win. He was charged with all four Colorado runs. St. Louis’ magic number was cut to five. The Astros lost 5-4 to the Brewers, giving the Cardinals a seven and a half game lead in the National League Central with 12 games to go.
