Officials In St. Louis Keeping Watch For Spread Of West Nile Virus

St. Louis health officials are keeping a close eye on their neighbor. Illinois has reported two more deaths from West Nile disease. That brings to 18 the number of Illinois residents who have died from the disease that is carried by mosquitoes. Missouri health officials reported three new cases Monday, bringing to 97 the number of Missourians confirmed to have contracted the disease. Two of the new cases are from St. Louis. One is from Kansas City.
