More than 1.4-Million Hancock Amendment refund checks totaling approximately $5.95-Million are now being mailed to taxpayers throughout the state by the Department of Revenue. The median individual income tax refund will be approximately $2, with taxpayers having the lowest numbered ZIP codes receiving their checks first. Those with the highest numbered ZIP codes can expect to be the last to receive their refunds. The distribution begins today and continues for the next five weeks. Hancock Amendment refunds are sent to eligible taxpayers when total state revenues in any year exceed personal income by one percent or more.
