Televangelist Gets Fresh Start In Branson

Jim Bakker – the once-prominent television evangelist -is going to re-launch his television preaching career in Branson. He tells the Springfield News-Leader he’ll start preaching from a set in a Branson Cafe. He and his wife, Lori, will broacast from the cafe during the lunch hour. In his glory days, Bakker was affiliated with the Assemblies of God. He has no denominational affiliation now. He says he serves a God “of the second chance.”
