The Royals lost their 8th straight game with a 12-4 pounding at the hands of the White Sox. The Royals lead 4-3 after two run rallies in the 3rd and 5th. Mike Sweeney drove in three of those runs. But that’s where the scoring stopped for Kansas City. The Sox scored four times in the seventh and five more in the 9th. Runelvys Hernandez got the loss, dropping to 3-5. He was charged with four of those runs. The Royals will need to go 10-8 the rest of the season to avoid their worst record ever. Kauffman Stadium will have a special remembrance of the 9/11 tragedy tonight. Country singer Doug Stone will sing the National Anthem and Neal McCoy will sing “God Bless America” during the seventh inning stretch. There will also be a B-2 bomber fly over from Whiteman Air Force base before the game. A September 11th memorial wall will be on display, featuring the names of each victim. After the game there will be a special fireworks display.
