An Independence man admits he robbed a bank and used the money to buy a recreational vehicle to take his girlfriend on a trip to Mount Rushmore. George L. Curtis faces 25 years in prison. He’s 75. He’ll learn his sentence later. Curtis admits he demanded a $200,000 cashier’s check from a teller, who told him she could not issue the check without the name of payee on it. So he gave her his name. He was arrested two days later in South Dakota, on his way to the Black Hills.
