Martinez Remembers 9/11

September 11, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

Tino Martinez remembers 9/11 better than most. The Cardinals first baseman was a member of the New York Yankees. They had just wrapped up a series in Tampa and were about to take on the White Sox on Tuesday September 11th. 16 games will be played around the majors tonight. At 9:11 New York time, all games will be halted for a moment of silence followed by a video commemorating those who died. A design bearing the words “We Shall Not Forget” will be placed on the fields. Fans at the games will receive t-shirts bearing the design.
