September 10, 2002 By admin Leave a Comment

The newest NASCAR driver is from Missouri. Joplin Native Jamie Mac Murray will drive for Chip Ganassi next season as the team expands to three cars. Jimmy Spencer and points-leader Sterling Marlin also race for Ganassi. There are currently four other drivers with Missouri roots. Rusty, Mike, and Kenny Wallace are from St. Louis. Ken Schrader hails from Fenton. Mac Murray is currently eighth in the Busch Series and finished second behind Dale Earnhardt Jr. in last week’s race.
