St. Louis Congressman Lacy Clay says an agreement between the Justice Department and the St. Louis Board of Elections doesn’t go far enough to clean-up problems that arose during the November, 2000 elections. Clay says the agreement is an improvement, but he wants the immediate, complete elimination of the controversial inactive voter list. Two major problems arose in St. Louis after the presidential elections in 2000: rampant voter fraud that allowed ineligible votes and massive tie-ups at the voting booths that turned many legitimate voters away.
