A new effort to keep 46 Missouri lawyers from getting $111-Million for work on Missouri’s part of the national tobacco settlement has been slapped down by a circuit judge in St. Louis County. A lawsuit by a couple of private citizens charged the payment violates the state constitution. But the judge has relied on a state supreme court ruling in another challenge that says the payment is constitutional.
