The Royals are hoping to avoid the distinction of being the team that helped the A’s make history. Kansas City faces a red-hot Oakland team that’s trying to win their 20th win in a row tonight. On Monday they tied the American League record for consecutive wins by beating the Royals 7-6 with Miguel Tejada’s ninth inning RBI single. The only other A.L. teams to win 19 straight are the 1906 White Sox and the 1947 Yankees. The 1916 Giants have the MLB record with 26 in a row.
